The Laundry Man
As I mentioned in the About Page, my ridiculous sister has a habit of attracting and maintaining relationships with unstable people. I am not sure if it is an odour that she gives off or just that she has an odd way of seeing how absurd the situation is. When I first arrived in Phnom Penh, we stayed at a place that included laundry to be taken away to be cleaned, something like 100 pieces per month. We stayed for just longer than a month and by the end of it, I could not be part of the laundry protocol. You might think that having someone do your laundry is easier, but when you have to count everything out and mark every different piece of clothing down in different categories, it can be quite time consuming! My sister is more adamant about cleaning clothes than I am, so I let her take this responsibility. The Inverse Stalker
Have you ever had a stalker? How about one that is so good that he makes you think that you are stalking him? I know it sounds ridiculous, but these people are crafty, and yes it has happened to my sister. After moving into a brand new building, it had very few occupants, therefore it is a little weird how often you run into the same person. So often that it can't be coincidence... and yet every time this person appears he does not respond to your greetings, presence or actions.... just acts like you are not there and that it is your fault he is standing next to you. So the first time this guy appeared was in the elevator, my sister tries to be normal and gives a smile and a nod but no response, okay just carry on. The next time was in the corridor, and she realizes he lives on the same floor, so when they pass in the hall she says "hello"- again no response.
